Gili Trawangan, Lombok.

I met wonderful friends here from Indonesia, America, Germany, Sweden, and Japan. Gili T as the travelers call it, is an amazing little island off the coast of Lombok, Indonesia. This backpacker island has no ATMs, fantastic snorkeling, and a very au-natural nightlife scene. You can walk around the island in about 3 hrs. With no electricity and run on generators, the electricity would be lost sometimes for 30% of the day/night. On an island where there are no gas-powered vehicles, only horse drawn carriages and bicycles for transport, it was quite amazing when the power went out at night.
Here was the first place I had ever seen the southern cross in the sky.

Silversmith class, zoo and a local friend, Wayan's rice factory.

I made these 3 rings this morning in a jewelry making class. Took 3
fun hrs and cost me $18.
Wayan's lumber/rice operation pays its workers $2.50 a day- a good wage compared to the usual pay of $2/day.

La taverna hotel staff in Sanur, s.e. Bali

I really liked Windy, the girl on the left.
This is a typical family on motorbike. Note the little rainbow colored socks near the woman's waist.

The volcano float actually smoked on top.

Lunch in Denpasar and Amed

At the Denpasar 'art' fest.
Not sure what the berries were but they were 10 cents a bag and
tasted like soggy french fries.
